Fighting spam together

One sender. Reported together. Blocked for everyone.

Forward spam to your personal reporting address — we check the sender and, once it has been reported repeatedly, block it across the entire network. Free for website owners with their own domain.

How it works

Three steps

01

Sign up & confirm

Enter your email address and click the confirmation link — you'll receive your personal forwarding address.

02

Forward your spam

Whenever spam lands in your inbox, simply forward it to your personal address — ideally “as attachment”, so the original sender can be identified.

03

Blocked network-wide

Once a sender has been reported by several independent members, it goes on the shared blocklist.

Why you need a domain

To prevent abuse — such as deliberately false reports against legitimate senders — we verify website accounts through an email address on their own domain. That way it's always clear who is reporting. Individuals without their own domain can still take part, with a lower daily reporting limit.

The badge

Once you've confirmed your address, you'll get a badge snippet for your website — a visible sign that you're part of the network.

How the protection actually works

When a sender is blocked, this first and foremost protects every mailbox in our own mail network (PAN21) — not automatically your personal mailbox at Gmail, Outlook or any other provider. So the block isn't a one-click fix just for you; it's primarily a shared line of defense: you report, and the network becomes safer for everyone connected to it.

To make sure you still get real, personal value even if your mailbox is hosted elsewhere, we publish the blocklist as a free download — so you can plug it into your own email system.

Why it doesn't take effect immediately

A sender is only blocked once it has been reported by at least two independent members — that's by design, not a bug. Without this threshold, anyone could maliciously report a genuine third-party sender and get it wrongly blocked across the network. So the system “remembers” the first report but only blocks after a second, independent confirmation.

Your badge has to be live

Forwarded emails from domain accounts are only processed while the badge is actually live on the registered website — we check this automatically every few hours. If you remove the badge, forwarded emails will be ignored from the next check onwards until you add it back. This ensures that only active, genuine network members can submit reports.

Use the blocklist yourself

All currently blocked senders are available for download here, updated every few minutes:

⬇ Plain list (.txt) ⬇ SpamAssassin format ⬇ JSON (for your own scripts)

Direct links: https://www.spam-abwehr.de/api/blocklist · ?format=spamassassin · ?format=json

For SpamAssassin: save the list to its own .cf file (for example, re-download it regularly via a cron job) and reload SpamAssassin. Gmail and Outlook don't offer a bulk import — there you'd have to add particularly persistent senders to your filter or block rules manually.
